Jaz Mirabel Beach, Sharm El Sheikh Reviews

We have taken a look at the top Holiday Review sites for the Jaz Mirabel Beach Sharm El Sheikh and summarised the reviews for your  convenience.

Trip Advisor(23/1/09)

The average† “overall rating” this hotel receives is 4.8 out of 5.

The reviews of this hotel are ones from people who have recently visited the hotel, ie had a holiday there in the last month, so we assume the reviews to be a fairly accurate reflection of what to expect.

The Jaz Mirabel Beach receives great reviews from their guests.  Many of the guests were overwhelmed by the friendliness of the staff and their attention to cleanliness and customer service.  The reviewers found their rooms to be spacious, comfortable, and spotlessly clean.  The food seem to stand out as well, for the right reasons.  Many said really positive things about the food which for an All Inclusive is rare!

So to some negatives, the entertainment – sorry Animation Team – was described as poor to average.  Some guests commented that the beach was not really that sandy ( form pictures I have seen it looks sandy, so I would welcome some feedback on this).  The sea life was not good enough for one reviewer, (eh these dam fish who do they think they are, swimming in other plaices!) although the reviewer did go further up the coast – around a 20 minute walk along the beach – to a cove where the marine life was amazing.

Tips – If you are interested in learning how to kite surf there is a British Kite Surfing School only 5 minutes from the hotel.  Take water shoes with you if you plan waking in the sea as the shore line has lots of sharp broken pieces of coral.

Holidaywatchdog (23/1/09)

The average† “overall rating” this hotel receives is 6 out of 10.

What difference 6 months makes, as a lot of the HW reviewers were not pleased with the way the hotel was run and with the quality of food.  The staff were being heavily criticised by some families who had daughters above 12 years who were getting inappropriate attention from some members of staff.

As there were no recent reviews on HW it is difficult to work out whether things have changed or not but according to Trip Advisor changes have taken place for the better.

Tips: Book a days boat cruise with Mr Diver were you’ll save 50% on tour operators charges.  Lebanese restaurant on the resort is well worth a visit.  A day trip to the Ras Mohammed Park is also not to be missed.

The average‡ “overall rating” this  hotel receives is 17 out of 25.

The Jaz Mirabel Beach does get slightly  better reviews than HW above, again the reviews related to holidays in the summer of 2008.  One of the stand out comments was the large walk-in showers which appealed to virtually everyone.   A couple of guests mentioned that unlike other Sharm El Sheikh Egypt hotels in their experience you were not pestered at the poolside and beach by reps trying to sell you excursions.

There did not appear to be any consistency in comments to really bring to your attention other than that you are charge for using the mini bar in your room, which holds the same stuff you get for free in the resort.  You may have  the impression that you can use the facilities at the sister hotels for free – apparently this is not the case.

Tips: Book the minibus into Naama Bay the day before as the bus fills up quite quickly – about £7 return for two.  Wifi is expensive £4.50 for half an hour.  Mosquitoes are about and hungry so use repellent.  The waterpark Cleopark is great fun.  Using the hotel’s cab service for return journeys at night to Naama is more expensive than local cabs but less hassle, more comfortable and safer.

Jaz Mirabel Beach, Sharm El Sheikh -Summary

The most recent reviewers, December 2008 to date do not have a bad word to say about the hotel.  Whether this is down to a change in management or the hotel is not good when it gets busy is only open to speculation.    The hotel hits the mark for many things, food, drink etc but some guests are confused about what is and isn’t  included in the All Inclusive, so make sure you find out when you arrive at the hotel.
